12x12 paper lovelies...

After my last post about Paper-Source I decided to peruse the papers to see about that lovely damask print paper for fun liners and wrapping gifts.  While I was not able to find that paper, I did find many other lovelies that I have not seen before.

I love the idea of creating inexpensive artwork by framing beautiful paper.  It creates an impact and as I mentioned can be very cheap!  Here are some 12x12 paper lovelies that are....well....just lovely!

I love how affordable a single sheet can be!  Also think about how simple it could be to create your own pattern to frame by using a rubber stamp to repeat your design.

Damask Suite

I love damask.  I have loved it for so many years before it was popular for weddings.  I remember doing a project in 2003 using some vintage red damask wallpaper.  Even after putting as many damask elements into my wedding last June, I still love it.  I even try to incorporate damask wrapping paper at almost any occasion that requires a gift {and even ones that do not}!

I am excited to see all of these great pieces from Paper-Source!

Slice of Lime Feature

Emily of Slice of Lime created the invites, programs, photobooth sign, candy box labels, candy jar labels, sign board, rehearsal dinner invites, bridesmaid luncheon invites, thank you notes...and provided countless hours of therapy!

Just a side note...the busty pic of me is NOT my fav.

what's that commercial?

You know the one that says they deliver "freaky fast?" Jimmy Johns? You know the one? I am thinking the post office must be up to something.

I dropped off the invites at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. By Saturday early afternoon, many in Missouri and Illinois already received their invitations....by today, New York and Philly received theirs. How is that possible?!? Freaky fast indeed!

I am looking forward to getting the mail tomorrow...will we have any RSVP's? :)

that's it?

I was expecting to feel something fabulous while mailing out invitations to the most significant event in my life to date. I expected the postal worker to share my joy. Seriously, I did. I know that dropping off invitations on a Friday at 4:00pm isn't likely to bring a smile to a stranger, let alone a postal worker... But after the week that I had, I wanted more than "do you want to keep your bags?" seriously. I guess I will have to wait for my invitation to arrive to get excited.

eye candy

I am making am effort to keep my personal laptop's desktop clean...a rather unruly task as I love to take screen shots as I pop around the net. While organizing my junk, I came across some rather fab "all things wedding" shots...check them out!

I wish I knew where I got this shot. Wedding heaven!

One bow...

Two bows...Three bows! Did you know I love bows? Wonder what my wedding cake will look like? Heh! ;)

zazzle?

The issue of postage is on the forefront. To zazzle or not to zazzle, that is the question. So I created a custom zazzle stamp (pictured above) that I think would go quite nicely with our invitation suite. But is it worth is to spend the extra money? Would it make more sense to go with this stamp instead?
Hmmm...I know the dragon fly is the first class odd-size 1 ounce stamp....but I just do not like any of the 2 ounce 59 cent stamps...

Each zazzle costs about 40 cents more.

Invites...final design

The design for the invites has now been finalized! Wheau! Emily and I met on Sunday and drained the battery power on her laptop (once again!). It has been several days of small changes...rotate and scoot swoop, delete dots, etc...until---PERFECTION! My anal heart did a pitter patter over the fabulous design. Emily totally understands my need for perfection and is always so gracious when I ask her to move or change something and THEN ask for it changed back! Oh yes! I can be totally obnoxious when it comes to design and creative stuff. She has a patient heart. She is my BFF in the wedding vendor world! hehe. Love ya Em! You are the best! :)

Invites...again

What do you think?

Invites...

Slice of Lime is designing all of our paper goods. I have been working with Emily on selecting the perfect font for our names. This is our winner! This font for all of the first initials was selected because of the "B". Chris and I both liked the way it looked and then we selected a different font for the rest of the letters to create the perfect combo.

Emily has been so fabulous to work with! She puts up with my every little change in my quest for the perfect invitation! Here is the current leader!
What do you think? My original plan was to base the design off of my wedding gown, but wouldn't you know that my dress is void of any beads, crystal and whatnot! I will be wearing a vintage brooch so we incorporated part of that into the design. The brooch is abstractly depicted in the middle section of the invite design where the three curved swoops are.

There is some wording that needs to be changed on the invite and I need to decided on wording for the accompanying pieces so Emily can work her magic again! The wedding is starting to feel real!
