Sold!

Woot woot! Got the wii fit!

THE dress

Her name is Maeve! I originally picked a dress by Watters and after much consideration, I decided it is not the dress for me. In the back of my mind, I kept telling myself that there has been only one dress that I have tried on that I actually felt like I was a bride. My mom and I went shopping on Thurs. to yet again search. I took her to a new place and one that I had already been too. We had a horrible time at the new place. It was unreal. The 2nd shop was ok, did not impress me too much the second time. Then we went to Town and Country Bridal to look at Maeve again. The owner is so incredibly sweet. She helped us without an appointment and was so wonderful! I just love this dress. So I cannot post a picture since Chris reads the blog, but I will say that I am looking for the perfect vintage brooch. I am new to ebay. I decided to try and get some stuff cheap! I am currently searching the brooches to see what sort of treasure I can get a deal on! I want the perfect brooch for my beautiful bridal gown! I found a really great Weiss brooch on etsy, but I kinda messed it up.
There was some yellowish stuff around the pave stones. Apparently it is glue and if you pick it off, the stones come out! Oops! I actually like it better now, because I would rather not have the yellow glue. Anyway, I need to enjoy my last few days of wedding madness planning before I have to focus on work.

Going Once, Going Twice!

I am trying to "win" a wii fit on ebay today. As part of my quest to be a knock-out bride, I am going to be working out more. Trainer Megan is going to be working with me up until the wedding and I have my bootcamp class with her too that totally makes you want to throw up! She kicks your butt with a smile. She is just so great that it is hard to quit!

Anyway, Joel and Erin got us hooked on wii. We have one (not hooked up) and now I want a wii fit! I think it would be totally fun! So how much is too much? I am not bidding, but just watching. There are MANY auctions ending this morning for the fit so I do not want to be too hasty in bidding! Maybe all the diehards will give up and I will get one for less that $150? Maybe? Or maybe I will just wait.

Dress Crazy!

I am definitely driving myself crazy with the dress search! I have been having a very difficult time finding "THE ONE" I am thinking there is no such thing. I am sure I could find the one if I had a $6,000 budget, but alas I am cursed with champagne taste and a beer budget. I wish I could post pictures of some of the contenders but Chris reads my blog and I am keeping the dress a surprise!

I can tell you that I have been to 13 shops (if my memory is correct!). Dress shopping is like dating, it is fun at first, but after a while it gets annoying and you just want to find the one! Am I right?! Anyway, tomorrow I am going to shop #14 and back to another one with my mom. Wish me luck! :)

The Boys...

It seems like only yesterday that Frankie came into our lives....well last week anyway. We have been adjusting pretty well, and when I say "we" I really mean Scout! Tonight Frankie decided Scout looked pretty comfy and wanted to snuggle with him. In previous attempts Scout would not allow this at all, but tonight...

I guess it was ok! Did not last for very long though, but they sure were cute while it lasted!

Ooh la la...

After taking a quiz at Brides.com, I am told that I am a modern bride...maybe yes? So I decided to check out the wedding flowers and decorations section to see what they show for the modern bride. Here are some items I enjoy.
Look at the before shot in the lower right. What a great transformation! I am totally digging the pink lighting (still my first choice!)

I would love to create a decorated "B" or 2 at the wedding, reception, or both! Maybe for the gift table, or oooohhhh one covered in candy for the sweets table?

This would just look cool in my home! I am into this grey/yellow/white combo in my living room. Maybe I will post some pics.
A topic I am very interested in is CAKE! The cake design will be determined after the fabulous Emily of Slice of Lime Design creates the invitations. Until then, here is so inspiration for style.
Holy cow! or moose? Love the idea, looks kinda like antlers on the top though...

Love the white band around the layer! I love damask, but this is even a little too much for me! Kinda reminds me of the card box Chris is going to create, but black and white.

This is my current vision...design based on the dress! LOVE LOVE LOVE
Hmm. Love the bow. (and the plateau!)
Not sure if I have posted this before, but I have loved this cake since we got engaged...it would need to be in black and white of course!

Then I found where you can create a cake on the Brides.com website. Kinda fun, but I need more options!

I do not think that I am totally modern, especially not after viewing the "glamorous" cake section. Look what I found!

Hmmm...some of the same cakes from "Modern" were in "glamorous" coincidence? ;)

One final picture...simple and elegant.

Miss Scarlet in the Library with the candlestick...

Ok, last post today. I promise! I just came across this picture...I made that costume!
I am Miss Scarlet, on the right. Miss White is my partner in crime Krissy. Don't we look fabulous?

Etsy LOVE...

I first learned about Etsy from a co-worker. I have glanced at their goods a time or two, but never really looked seriously. So today I am doing wedding stuff *surprise* and decided to look at their wedding section a little more seriously.
(from Etsy seller BrassPaperclip)
Wow! Love this. I cannot justify the purchase, albeit quite reasonable in my opinion, at this time. It would be really pretty just to have...

Fleur inspiration...

All the wedding flowers will be white. While I have already booked the florist and given him an idea of what flowers I want in the bouquets, the final arrangement is subject to change! So while searching for inspiration, I visited Martha Stewart Weddings for some ideas.

Now I was definitely surprised that I did not find more ideas, so I then searched Brides
and found plenty of gorgeous pictures.
I totally LUV this arrangement of ranunculus and rice flower! That would be so gorgeous as a wedding bouquet.

These images are pretty too. Some of them have too much green, but definite options.

Brown Paper Packages...

Arriving home from spending time with my 2 nephews today, there were 3 packages on the front porch. I don't know about you, but THAT is why I love to shop online! It is so much fun doing the shopping and then the anticipation of when it will arrive! So today I received the perfect red-violet colored tulle. I LUV this color. Hmmmm....(photo from Nashville Wraps)

I also received frosted take out boxes. The first set was too tiny, so alas, more online shopping. They are slightly larger than what I wanted but they will work! (photo from Nashville Wraps).
I am still waiting for a package  from Sams Club. I am expecting my scoops. I decided to order them since they were ridiculously expensive in store and I was having a hard time of deciding which ones to order from different websites. (photo from samsclub.com)
I love that they are metal and are a 12 pack for a very reasonable price! Let's hope that they look good in person! These are for the candy bar. I still need to find the perfect silver tongs. I thought I was on the right track when I found these sugar tongs at Crate and Barrel, but I did not realize how tiny they would be in person. A few more inches and they would have been perfect!
The search continues!

Welcome Home Frankie!

Our newest furbaby has finally arrived! I was not sure that this was actually going to happen! I will tell you how his introduction to Scout went but first a picture...

Wish I had a better one, but the boys won't sit still long enough! Scout is not so sure what to think about Frankie. He hissed at him when I brought him home. They seem to be doing as well as can be expected, they are currently chasing each other around the house. I hear pitter pattering feet and the clinking of Frankie's tag. Frankie can sure keep up with Scout! More on the boys later...

What a day!

I normally would not post about everyday things, but boy did I have a crazy day and it is only 3:15! I have to leave for class in 15 mins, so I better make this fast!

Vern Update
Well little kitty is still at the HSMO. He will be there until the 6th or 7th. He is still sneezing, so lets hope he is better soon! I created a list of potential names for Vern, no Jill, we will not keep his name Vern! Chris decided one day that this kitty should be named Frankie since he has blue eyes. Hmmm, Frankie (or Franklin) is on the list of potential names, and I am warming up to the idea since my hopes of naming him Finn have been all but crushed! I will definitely post pictures of Vern when he arrives.

Aligned?
So my day was to start out with dentist appointment to get my invisalign retainer! Woot! Woot! I cannot believe that I am finished with my trays already, that seemed like it went really fast. Don't get me wrong, there were days when I just wanted to rip my teeth out of my mouth just to be finished with the trays, fortunately I still have all of my teeth now they are perfect!

Emergency Room
Who would have thought that when I woke up this morning that I would spend some time in the ER? Interesting huh! Don't you hate it when something happens and it wasn't even your fault...grrr... Anyway. I got up to get ready for the dentist, got in the shower. I was washing my hair and all of the sudden out of the corner of my eye, I see the mirror that was hanging on the window in the bathroom fall. It was like it was falling in slow motion. I kept thinking, PLEASE do not break. So it did not break, but man did my toe hurt. Then comes the blood. I was so confused! Why was I bleeding when the mirror did not break. As I am getting myself together and fighting the excruciating pain, I realize there is something laying on the bottom of the tub. It is the handle to the soap holder. Interesting. So on the mirrors downward decent, it crashed into the porcelin soap holder in the shower, broke off the handle and the handle is what sliced my foot. Ouch. So I get ready, apply a few steri-strips a bandaid and go off to the dentist, taste some cake, and then head to the ER. Anyway, I was able to have it glued instead of having stitches since the bleeding pretty much stopped. So I have my three toes on my left foot taped together. It hurts when I walk which is a bummer. Oh well. Time for class!
