DIY wedding makeup...oh yeah!

I love makeup! Going to MAC or Sephora is like going to a candy store! There are so many things that I am wanting to try so many beautiful colors. Ah heaven. I have recently become aware of of some products that I have never even heard of let alone even tried. I asked around and was not able to find out anything. Hmmm.

Primer-what is it?! Why do I need it? I do not know the exact answers to these questions, but I can tell you that I was able to get a few samples of some primers from Sephora. I tried the Sephora brand primer and I liked it...not sure what I am looking for, so I plan to try a few more. Another sample I have is by Smashbox. I plan to try that and also try to snag a sample of Laura Mercier. I hear Laura's is so fab.

Airbrush Foundation-huh? sounds so fab. I am dying to try the Dior AirFlash Foundation.

So what about waterproof eyeliner? I am thinking I need to look into this...any recommendations?

  1. You may think this is crazy, but I JUST THIS MORNING tried using Monistat Anti-Chaffing cream as a primer and it is AMAZING! Google it... there was a post on STL wed about it. :)

    Yay DIY Makeup!

  2. I think primer is supposed to help your eye makeup stay longer, and help make it look smoother. I haven't ever actually bought primer, but I use concealer as a primer... kind of like as a base.

Best of luck, post pics of your trials!

If I don't like my makeup trial for my wedding I might just end up doing it myself too, just afraid it might not look great in pics in comparison to a pro... make sure you take lots of pics, make some of them in black and white, etc, take some from farther away... just make sure you're happy with it both in person, and on film!
